January-- New Year, New Opportunity

A brief word for 2024…
Hey everyone— happy new year! I’m not usually a big resolutions person but the start of the year always feels like an excitingly blank canvas. People are ready to try new things, develop new routines, and find new favorites. I’m excited to capture that energy with all of you and bring more Bay Area locals to our local Bay Area businesses!
This edition, we’re featuring Pobbles campaigns from a local fashion boutique, a neighborhood dive bar, and a longtime omakase restaurant that went absolutely viral with over 150,000 views in just two weeks.
The best part? None of them spent more than $300 to make it happen.
Read on to find out what they’re doing that you might not be!

THE ROUNDUP
A spotlight of the best local marketing campaigns that businesses just like yours ran on Pobbles. Here you can see what worked, which up and coming local creators have been going viral, and as always, how you can replicate the success you see here by using our platform.

San Mateo Mom and Pop Omakase Restaurant | Creator: Charissa
Overview: A local omakase restaurant used our platform to launch their social media presence. This was their first time trying to do anything on social media and they were looking to give their business a boost going into the holidays.
Results: One of our creators helped them go absolutely viral, generating over 150,000 views in just two weeks. More excitingly, they saw a huge number of shares and saves, indicating that a lot of locals were adding them to a short list of interesting places to try soon.
Key tactics: If your business features a product that’s eye catching or visually interesting, definitely apply the tactics this business tried on social media. As we can see here, having a creator capture your product aesthetically + actively reacting positively and explaining key details can be very convincing.

San Francisco Neighborhood Dive Bar | Creator: Megan
Overview: A local SF dive bar was debuting some exciting new holiday cocktails and decor and needed an effective way of making sure that locals were aware of the update. After posting the content, the discussion in the comments further helped them realize what people found most intriguing about their bar.
Results: While their content generated close to 17,000 views from locals, the discussion in the comments was far more interesting. Most people kept highlighting that this particular bar served food until 2AM, far later than anything they had seen elsewhere in the city and mentioned that they and their friends would add this bar as a later stop on their nights out.
Key tactics: Themes work! This business had three things they wanted to highlight about their bar and despite going into the collaboration thinking that their holiday decor was going to be the star, including the other themes (serves food late + craft cocktails) actually helped them to generate most of the buzz.

San Francisco Local Fashion Boutique | Creator: Kathleen
Overview: This fashion boutique has been struggling with decreased organic foot traffic on their street and wanted to turn to social media to help drive more local customers in to their shop.
Results: With over 11,000 views in just two weeks, this content showed that there’s a good amount of untapped interest who simply didn’t know this store existed!
Key tactics: Everybody loves a good story so sharing a bit of yours or the story behind your products can be quite effective when done well. In this particular case, the store talked about the origin of some of their more unique offerings. Just keep in mind that attention spans are short, so the stories have to be simple!
